Murder Investigation Launched After Woman’s Death in Southwark
A murder probe is underway after a 27-year-old woman died at a block of flats on Elephant Road, Southwark. Police were called at 3.56pm on Thursday, 6 April, following reports of a disturbance.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their best efforts, the woman was pronounced dead.
Next of kin have been informed, and a post-mortem will be carried out soon. A crime scene remains in place as detectives dig into the case.
Man Found Dead After Falling From Height in EC4
Later that same day, at 8.43pm, police were called to New Change in EC4 after reports of a man falling from height.
London Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance attended the scene. Sadly, the 31-year-old man died despite emergency aid and help from bystanders.
The man and the woman are believed to have been known to each other. Next of kin have been notified.
Police Comfort Community, Appeal for Information
Superintendent Rachael Walmsley from the Met’s Central South Command said: “My officers will be patrolling in the area as our Specialist Crime colleagues go about their enquiries – if you have concerns please don’t hesitate to approach them. My thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic incident.”
Detective Inspector Mike Nolan added: “We understand the community will be shocked. We are in the early stages of our investigation but currently don’t believe anyone else is wanted in connection with these tragic events.”
He urged anyone with information to come forward: “I thank local residents for their patience and cooperation as my team carry out enquiries.”
