A tense police chase kicked off in Mansfield after a suspicious car, thought to be driving on false plates, refused to stop. Officers quickly scrambled a helicopter, dog unit, and a stinger tyre deflation device to trap the driver.
Driver Crashes into Field, Causing Thousands in Crop Damage
After police launched the stinger, the driver swerved off the A617 into a nearby field, smashing through a gate and wrecking a large swathe of crops worth thousands. Two occupants then fled on foot in a desperate bid to escape.
Manhunt Ends with Arrests Thanks to Police Dog and Aerial Surveillance
The suspects didn’t get far. Police Dog Wolf was on the scent, catching the driver, while the passenger was caught after the helicopter zeroed in on him. Both were swiftly detained.
Drugs and Cash Seized in Follow-Up Operation
