The Royal Mint Takes Star Wars Fans on a Galactic Ride
The Royal Mint has blasted back into the Star Wars universe with a stunning new series of collectible coins and bullion bars. This time, the legendary Millennium Falcon takes centre stage.
Millennium Falcon Shines on Shiny 50p Coin
After a stellar first attempt, the Mint’s second Star Wars series zooms in on the saga’s iconic spacecraft. The headline act? A 50p coin featuring the Millennium Falcon landing in all its glory.
Not just any coin, this beauty boasts a clever twist: a silhouette of the Falcon and the Rebel Alliance Starbird symbol that magically tilts in the light to reveal secret emblems. Collectors and fans won’t want to miss it!
Rebecca Morgan, Director of Commemorative Coin at the Royal Mint, said: “We are delighted to celebrate the Star Wars franchise’s numismatic return with a series of coins dedicated to its iconic vehicles.”
More Star Wars Ships and Gold Bars in the Pipeline
The Millennium Falcon coin is just the start. Coming in 2024 are coins highlighting other legendary ships: TIE Fighters, X-Wings, and the infamous Death Star II. Each will thrill fans and collectors alike.
And there’s more: Royal Mint bullion bars inspired by Star Wars characters are landing soon. Available in gold and silver, the first designs feature Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo for the very first time on bullion bars.
Andrew Dickey, Director of Precious Metals at the Royal Mint, enthused: “The Royal Mint’s launch of the Star Wars bullion bars is particularly exciting as iconic characters of the Skywalker Saga have inspired designs that feature on bullion bars for the very first time.”
