Met Police have shut Kingsbridge Crescent from Craven Avenue to Evelyn Grove. Nearby residents are warned to keep windows and doors firmly shut due to smoke and fumes.
Cause of Fire Unknown as Roof Catches Alight
The fierce blaze tore through a carpet warehouse, spreading to the roof. Fire crews used two hose reels and several jets to wrestle the flames under control.
Firefighters to Stay Overnight Tackling Hot Spots
The blaze is now contained but firefighters are expected to work through the night to tackle lingering hotspots within the carpet business.
