Inferno Hits Angel Inn Hotel in Midhurst – Ukrainian Refugees Evacuated

Massive Blaze Tears Through Historic Angel Inn

West Sussex Fire and Rescue are battling a major fire at the Angel Inn hotel on North Street, Midhurst. Ten fire engines, an aerial ladder platform, a water carrier, and an off-road vehicle have been rushed to the scene to tackle the blaze.

Historic Buildings Engulfed, Refugees Forced Out

Two historic buildings, including the Angel Inn, are ablaze. The hotel was sheltering Ukrainian refugees, who have now been evacuated safely. One Ukrainian girl told reporters the hotel had 15 rooms, while a bystander counted roughly 30 people being led along the pavement to a local reception centre.

Residents Warned: Keep Windows Shut

Due to thick smoke blanketing the area, locals are urged to keep windows closed until the fire is under control. Emergency services are continuing to manage the situation.
