Three Dead and Woman Critically Injured in Horror A5 Crash
Tragedy struck on the A5 in Hinckley on Friday as a man and two children died following a crash involving a car and an HGV. A woman was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, sparking a major emergency response.
Collision on Watling Street Sparks Massive Emergency
West Midlands Ambulance Service was alerted at 4.20pm to a collision on Watling Street, Burbage. The crash involved a car crashing into a heavy goods vehicle.
Ambulance crews from West Midlands and East Midlands were dispatched along with the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. West Midlands sent two ambulances and two paramedic officers to the scene.
Three Lose Lives, Woman in Critical Condition
A West Midlands Ambulance spokesman revealed the grim details:
- The car’s male driver was pronounced dead at the scene despite emergency efforts.
- A boy passenger received advanced life support but sadly died on-site.
- A girl passenger was critically injured, taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, but passed away shortly after arrival.
- A woman passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital fighting for her life.
HGV Driver Unharmed
The HGV driver was assessed at the scene and did not require hospital treatment. He received on-site care and was discharged after self-care advice.
The tragic crash has left the community reeling as investigations continue.
