Man Dies in Late-Night Crash on Pomeroy Road
The Police Service of Northern Ireland has confirmed a man died after a single-vehicle collision on Pomeroy Road, Pomeroy. The fatal incident happened just after 11:30pm on Friday, September 29.
Tragic Crash Unfolds on Quiet Road
A passing motorist first spotted a man walking along Pomeroy Road towards a nearby house. While police were en route, another call came through reporting the man had been hit by a Citroen Berlingo van on the same stretch.
Despite rapid first aid from emergency crews at the scene, the man was pronounced dead. The van’s driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Road Reopens After Police Investigation
The road was closed briefly as officers conducted inquiries but has now reopened. Authorities are appealing for witnesses and information about the man seen moments before the crash.
