Police Officer Seriously Injured by E-Bike in Swindon

Wiltshire Police are urgently hunting witnesses after a police officer was seriously hurt in Swindon on the night of January 13, 2024. The officer was struck by an electric bike, sparking a fast-moving investigation and an arrest.

Teen Arrested After Officer Hit

A 17-year-old boy has been snapped up on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The injured officer is in hospital receiving treatment, with his family by his side. Wiltshire Police say they’re providing full welfare support to the officer, his loved ones, and his colleagues.

Crash Happened at Faringdon Road Junction

The shocking incident happened around 11:20 pm near the junction of Faringdon Road and Westcott Place in Swindon. Police have since boosted their presence in the area as they probe what exactly went down.

Police Plea for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Superintendent Steve Cox voiced deep concern over the attack and urged anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward. “Several members of the public witnessed this and some helped the officer immediately,” he said. “It’s vital we hear from anyone with information to piece together what happened.”
