Armed Police Chase Ends in Head-On Crash with London Bus in Hackney
A dramatic police pursuit in Hackney ended with a vehicle crashing head-on into a fully loaded London bus just before midnight on Tuesday.
Armed Officers in High-Speed Chase
Met Police officers, armed and in pursuit, ordered the driver to stop. The driver ignored commands and sped away, only to collide violently with the N242 bus on Median Road. The impact caused serious damage to both the bus and the suspect’s vehicle.
Suspects Arrested, No Injuries Reported
Officers quickly arrested the driver and passengers inside the vehicle. All were taken to Homerton Hospital for medical checks before being held in custody. Thankfully, no injuries were reported among those on the bus or the driver.
Road Closures Cause Major Disruption
- Lower Clapton Road in both directions and Median Road are closed.
- Police warn closures will remain for some time.
- Motorists urged to find alternative routes.
The Met Police have been approached for comment on the incident.
