89-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Bexleyheath Home
Police were called to Barton Close, Bexleyheath, at 3.10pm on Saturday, 5 June after concerns for a woman’s welfare.
Man Arrested on Suspicion of Murder
Officers, joined by the London Ambulance Service, arrived to find an 89-year-old woman dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
A 57-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder. He was taken to hospital for treatment of self-inflicted injuries. The pair are believed to have known each other.
Investigation Underway
The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command (Homicide) are now leading the probe. A post-mortem will be scheduled, and police have sealed off the scene as investigations continue.
