Armed police and Emergency services rushed to a property in New Southgate just before midnight  on Saturday 6th April 2025 after receiving reports of a man going on a violent rampage with a machete.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that armed officers responded swiftly to the scene, where they detained the suspect using a Taser.

The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service have been approached for further information, and updates are expected as the investigation unfolds. Residents are urged to avoid the area while the crime scene remains in place, and anyone with information is asked to contact the police immediately.

A London Ambulance Service Spokesperson said: “We were called at 23:38 yesterday (5 April) to reports of a stabbing at Brunswick Crescent, N11.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a tactical response officer, an incident response officer, a paramedic in a fast response car, an advanced paramedic practitioner and members of our HART (Hazardous Area Response Team).
“We treated 4 patients on scene and conveyed 3 to local hospitals.”

A Spokesman for the Met Police said: Around 11.40pm on Saturday, 5 April, officers responded to reports of multiple assaults at an address in Brunswick Crescent, N11. They attended alongside the London Ambulance Service.

Two men in their 30s, a man in his 40s and three women in their 40s were treated by paramedics at the scene. Their injuries were assessed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening. Three people were taken to hospital and subsequently discharged. A 33-year-old man from Barnet was arrested at the scene on suspicion of wounding with intent. He remains in custody.
