Gun, Drugs, and Blades: Enfield Man Banged Up for 12 Years After Police Find Arsenal in Flat

Coskun Coskun Caught Red-Handed with Firearms and Drugs

Coskun Coskun, 33, of Cameron Close, Enfield, has been slammed with a hefty 12-year sentence at Wood Green Crown Court on Wednesday, 7 October. The court heard he pleaded guilty to a string of serious offences:

  • Two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm
  • Two counts of possession of ammunition without a certificate
  • Possession of class A drugs with intent to supply
  • Possession of class B drugs with intent to supply
  • Possession of a firearm without a certificate
  • Possession of a bladed article

From Dangerous Dogs to Deadly Weapons

Police were called to a Southgate flat on St Paul’s Rise on 10 August 2019 after reports of dangerous dogs. What they found went way beyond pooches. Officers discovered a Glock pistol tucked away in a bag under the bed, alongside a balaclava, gloves, and drugs.

Forensic tests tied the deadly stash back to Coskun. Following a manhunt, cops tracked him down in Edmonton on 4 October 2019 and arrested him. Coskun had a BMW key on him, which led officers to his car just as it was being loaded onto a truck — moments before it could disappear for good.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a frightening arsenal: a sawn-off shotgun, a loaded Sig Sauer pistol, and two machetes, along with multiple cartridges. The live firearms posed a serious threat, officers said, likely destined for use in violent crime.

Police Praise Quick Thinking After Serious Haul

DC Adam Pursey, Specialist Crime North, said: “A call about dogs led to the seizure of three guns, weapons, and a large amount of drugs. The quick actions of officers after the arrest prevented these weapons from being lost.

“These firearms were live and capable of serious harm. Their removal ensures London is safer. This sentence shows how seriously gun crime is treated.”
