Ex-Boyfriend Shoots Woman in Shoulder After Break-Up
Curtis Elliott went on a terrifying rampage after his ex ended their relationship on July 26. He pulled up next to her on Woodlands Close, Clacton, threatened to kill her, then blasted her in the shoulder with an air rifle as she tried to run away.
Manhunt and Violent Assault Follow Shooting
The pellet left a painful puncture wound, but Elliott wasn’t finished. He reversed his car, jumped out, and chased her down. Elliott threw her to the ground, punched her repeatedly, and smashed her phone.
When a passerby came to the victim’s aid, Elliott grabbed the air rifle from his car and pointed it at her again before finally driving off.
Not Over Yet: More Threats on Burrs Road
Still armed, Elliott drove to Burrs Road and threatened three acquaintances with the air rifle before speeding away. Later, he handed himself in to police.
Justice Served: Killer Jailed for Multiple Charges
The 23-year-old, formerly of Woodford Close, Clacton, faced Chelmsford Crown Court where he admitted two counts of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear, assault causing actual bodily harm, threats to kill, and criminal damage.
He was jailed on November 24.
“This was a terrifying situation where Elliott put people in fear for their lives,” said investigating officer PC Louise Everitt. “He shot his former partner in a premeditated and deliberate way, all because he could not accept she had ended their relationship. The judge described the attack as disgraceful and terrifying, and this sentence reflects just how serious and abhorrent Elliott’s behaviour was.”
