Ex-Boyfriend's Terrifying Petrol Bomb Threats in Peterborough
Shocking Street Showdown
Dominic Stubbs, 24, from Crowland, Peterborough, erupted in fury when he spotted his ex-girlfriend and her new partner outside their home on 16 September. The pair had just returned at 1.30pm when Stubbs started shouting abuse in the street.
He didn’t stop there — shouting threats to petrol bomb the woman’s car and promising to torch her home while she and her family were inside.
Violent Threats Send Chills
Stubbs even warned he would shoot or stab the couple before sprinting off. Luckily, a passer-by witnessed the terrifying outburst and reported it.
Caught, Convicted, and Locked Up
Police arrested Stubbs the very next day on suspicion of making threats to kill and harassment. During the interview, he denied abusing them but claimed he was provoked.
But Stubbs eventually pleaded guilty to two counts of threatening behaviour and two charges of making threats to destroy property. Peterborough Crown Court sentenced him to two years behind bars.
Restraining Order and Police Warning
He was slapped with an indefinite restraining order banning any contact with his ex and her boyfriend.
“These threats were nothing short of horrific and frightening, and left the victim incredibly shaken,” said DC Jacob Reeves.
“No one deserves to suffer this kind of abuse, especially on the doorstep of their own home. This case shows domestic abuse isn’t always physical. We’re here for victims and will do everything to protect them.”
