Gunrunner Caught Red-Handed in South West London
David Longhor, 20, from Villiers Road, Southall, was sentenced on Wednesday, 21 July, after pleading guilty to serious firearms offences.
Armed with Two Skorpion Machine Guns
- Two counts of possession of a firearm with intent
- Two counts of possession of prohibited weapons
- Possession of ammunition without a certificate
Longhor appeared at Isleworth Crown Court after admitting his crimes on 22 April. The case sparked outrage given the deadly arsenal he was caught carrying.
Met Police Praise Sharp Surveillance and Armed Intervention
Detective Inspector Jim Casey from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said: “To find one weapon like this is rare. To find two at the same time is almost unheard of!”
He added, “Luckily, these weapons don’t surface often, largely thanks to the proactive work of Met officers determined to keep deadly firearms off our streets.”
Under Watch and Under Arrest
On 1 March, Longhor left his home under police surveillance, wearing blue latex gloves and carrying a rucksack. He travelled by train to Chiswick Park Tube Station, where armed officers swiftly stopped him on Bollo Lane at 6:25pm.
Police discovered two Skorpion machine guns plus two magazines loaded with 20 bullets each inside his bag. Longhor immediately denied ownership of the firearms.
He was arrested, taken to a west London police station for questioning, and charged the next day.
Fight Against Gun Crime Still a Top Priority
DI Casey stressed: “Tackling violence, especially gun crime, is our top priority. We will keep hunting down those involved in shootings and moving guns around London.”
The public are urged to report any information on serious criminals to the police or Crimestoppers to help keep communities safe.
