Murder Charges After Deadly London Shooting

Abass Ahmed, 22, from N17, has been charged with murder following the fatal shooting on Sunday, 24 July. He is set to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 5 August.

Six Others Face Charges Linked to Shooting

  • Devonte Jackson, 27, from N8, and a 16-year-old boy were charged on 2 August with arson, assisting an offender, and perverting the course of justice.
  • Milan Kaleja, 30, of Margate, and Mohamed Ahmed Ali, 24, from N8, faced charges of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice on 3 August. Kaleja is out on bail, while Ali remains in custody. Both will appear at Harrow Crown Court on 30 August.
  • Omar Mohamed, 18, from Tottenham N17, and Anas Ali, 21, from New Barnet, were charged with perverting the course of justice on 3 August. They are due in court on 4 August.

Ongoing Investigation and Other Arrests

  • A 64-year-old man arrested for murder in Harlesden on 31 July has been released under investigation, as has a 25-year-old woman arrested for assisting an offender.
  • An 18-year-old man arrested at City Airport on 1 August is on bail pending further enquiries.
  • A 17-year-old boy arrested for assisting an offender in Margate has also been released under investigation.

Victim and Police Appeal

Police were called to High Road, N22 at around 9:30pm on 24 July after reports of a shooting. Officers, including firearms units, found 23-year-old Camilo Palacio from Enfield suffering a gunshot wound. Despite emergency treatment, including efforts by London’s Air Ambulance, Camilo was pronounced dead at 10pm.

A post-mortem revealed Camilo died from a gunshot wound to the chest. Specialist officers are supporting his family.
