Police swooped on a drug duo’s homes in a major Cambridgeshire crackdown, uncovering thousands in cash and a stash of cocaine hidden in the oddest places.

£5,000 Found in Wardrobe, Cocaine Stashed in Car

On 21 September, officers raided Mohammed Ahmed’s home on Cottonwood Drive. They found £5,000 hidden in his wardrobe and three mobile phones tucked under his bed. The search didn’t stop there. In Ahmed’s car, police discovered another £200 in cash and wraps of cocaine stashed in the driver’s door and sunglasses holder.

Girlfriend’s Home Reveals More Drugs and Delivery Lists

At the same time, police searched Ahmed’s girlfriend Helen Sutcliffe’s place on Glover Drive. They found more cocaine wraps, edible cannabis, and a drug debt plus delivery list, exposing their drug-running operation.

Jail Sentences Delivered at Cambridge Crown Court

Ahmed, 25, copped a four-year prison sentence on 3 March after pleading guilty to supplying class A drugs and possessing criminal property. Sutcliffe, 40, received an 18-month suspended sentence for the same charges on 11 January.

“This drug dealing duo were running a sophisticated criminal enterprise supplying class A drugs throughout Cambridgeshire and the surrounding area. Unfortunately for the pair, they left a trail of evidence behind and have now been sentenced for their crimes,” said Detective Constable Jacob Reeves.

“County lines bring misery to our communities in the form of drug dealing, exploitation and violence.”

Operation Hypernova Smashes 33 County Lines

The raids were part of Operation Hypernova, a fierce crackdown targeting exploitation and illegal drugs. The operation crushed 33 county lines, seizing crack cocaine, cocaine, heroin, and cannabis worth over £600,000. Police also confiscated hundreds of thousands of pounds in cash and assets including vehicles, jewellery, and clothing, alongside several weapons.

The drug dealers’ empire has been busted – sending a powerful message to criminals across Cambridgeshire.
