Guns Discovered in Ford Fiesta Stop
Police arrested a suspect and seized two converted pistols loaded with 21 rounds of ammo after pulling over a Ford Fiesta on the A610 Nuthall Road in Nottingham. The high-stakes stop came after cops received intel that 29-year-old Troi Brown was carrying a gun around town.
Chopper Joins Manhunt for Armed Drivers
A police helicopter was scrambled to help track down the Fiesta, which was finally stopped on the evening of 3 May 2022. Brown had earlier stashed the weapons in the car’s boot, showing clear intent to evade authorities.
Four Men Now Face Serious Firearm Charges
- Driver Sam Rigley, 26, was quickly detained during the stop and found with the weapons.
- Brown, from Amesbury Circus, Cinderhill, and Emre Bulbuller, 28, of Ralph Drive, Somercotes, Derbyshire, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing prohibited firearms and ammunition without a certificate.
- Brown also admitted to possessing a firearm while banned and was jailed for six years at Nottingham Crown Court on 16 March 2023.
- Bulbuller received a matching six-year sentence.
- Ronald Redmond, 39, also from Amesbury Circus, admitted to criminal property offences and was released on licence after serving eight months on remand.
- Rigley pleaded guilty to similar offences and awaits sentencing on 31 March 2023.
Police Crack Down on Firearms in The East Midlands
“Dangerous weapons such as those we seized have the potential to cause immense harm to communities,” said Detective Inspector Mark Adas of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU). “Guns like these can have fatal consequences, but thankfully we were able to remove them from the streets. I hope our proactive work in this case shows how committed we are, working closely with our partners, to making our region even safer and protecting people from harm.”
