Apple Watch Ultra Goes Deep with Oceanic+ Dive App
Apple Watch Ultra just got a serious upgrade for divers. The new Oceanic+ app turns Apple’s toughest watch into a fully fledged dive computer. Created by Huish Outdoors and Apple, the app lets recreational divers plunge down to 40 metres (130 feet) with new depth and temperature sensors built into the watch.
Dive Smarter with Top-Notch Tech
- Oceanic+ offers all the features of a pro dive computer right on your wrist.
- Plan dives with surface time, depth, and gas settings.
- Get No Deco times and real-time dive conditions like tides and currents.
- Post-dive, view detailed GPS data, dive profiles, and graphs on your iPhone.
Mike Huish, CEO of Huish Outdoors, says: “Oceanic+ on Apple Watch Ultra is one of the biggest innovations to hit the dive industry in a long time. We’re creating an accessible, shareable, better diving experience for everybody.”
Built Tough, Built for Adventure
The Apple Watch Ultra boasts a rugged 49mm titanium case, sapphire crystal screen, and the brightest display Apple has made — up to 2000 nits for crystal-clear underwater visibility. It’s rated WR100 and meets EN 13319 dive gear standards, so it’s built for serious exploration.
The Action button can launch the Oceanic+ app or mark compass bearings during your dive. Plus, the watch’s haptic feedback vibrates on your wrist to send silent alerts — perfect for cutting through noisy underwater beeps and wetsuits up to 7mm thick.
“Sound underwater can be confusing,” explains Andrea Silvestri, Huish Outdoors VP. “Our haptic feedback gives a personal, gentle nudge to guide you.”
