Burglar Busted: David Clift Caught After String of Raids
David Clift, 45, from Truckle Road, was slapped with a two-year jail sentence at Salisbury Crown Court today. The crook pleaded guilty to three separate burglaries, cracking cases across the Larkhill and Tidworth areas.
Break-Ins on the Rise
Clift was nabbed on November 9 after cops linked him to multiple non-dwelling burglaries. The court heard he smashed into a home on The Packway on November 5, making off with a Hi-Fi box. He also struck in Old Sarum between November 2 and 6, plus a September 1 raid in Tidworth where cash and other goods disappeared.
His rap sheet didn’t end there. Eleven more burglary offences were taken into account when sentencing.
Police Praise and Tough Justice
“Clift is a prolific offender – his actions have caused upset to a number of people over the years,”
said Insp Tina Osborn.
“I am grateful to our Neighbourhood and Volume Crime Teams for working hard to target repeat offenders. Burglary can have a lasting impact and it’s crucial these crimes are thoroughly investigated and dealt with in court.”
Besides jail time, Clift was ordered to pay a £187 victim surcharge, adding to his punishment.
