Sidcup Predator Danny Mackney Jailed for Years of Child Abuse
Relentless Grooming and Abuse Exposed
Danny Mackney, from Harman Drive, Sidcup, Greater London, terrorised a young victim with repeated sexual abuse between 2018 and 2020. He groomed the child online, bombarding them with explicit messages and images, then demanded indecent photos in return.
Arrest and Court Fight
Mackney was finally arrested in November 2020. At Woolwich Crown Court, he pleaded not guilty, but the evidence soon told a different story.
Detective Praises Victim’s Bravery
Detective Constable Josh Whitehead of the West Kent Child Protection Team said: “Mackney knowingly groomed a child before subjecting them to repeated abuse over an extended period. He showed zero regard for the devastating impact on his victim, focused solely on his own twisted gratification.”
DC Whitehead added, “It is to the victim’s considerable credit that they had the courage to support our investigation and provide compelling evidence that ensured this sexual predator is now behind bars.”
