Strike Cancelled After Metroline Workers Snag 11% Pay Rise
Metroline workers have smashed their original pay offer out the park. Unite union members accepted an 11% pay rise, a massive jump from the measly 4% initially offered. This win has scuppered the planned Christmas strike, sparing commuters just in time for the holidays.
Unite Hails ‘Significant Victory’ for Members
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham celebrated the deal. “This is a significant victory for our Metroline members who stood firm and were ready to strike,” she said. “By sticking together, they’ve secured a much better pay offer.”
Union Proud of Results for Jobs and Pay
Graham added, “This pay agreement shows how Unite’s relentless focus on members’ jobs, pay, and conditions is paying off big time.”
