Man Sparks Havoc in Early Morning Blaze After Assault
A terrifying early morning incident unfolded at around 12.30am on Sunday, 25 April 2021, in Wellingtonia Way, Edenbridge.

Officers raced to the scene after reports that a man attacked a woman before setting fire to the property. The blaze caused significant damage, including smashed windows.
Hammer-Wielding Suspect Threatens Emergency Crews
Kent Fire and Rescue Service quickly tackled the inferno, backed by police patrols. Shockingly, the accused threatened firefighters and a police officer while brandishing a hammer. The man was swiftly detained and taken into custody.
Woman Hospitalised; Suspect Faces Serious Charges
The injured woman was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Daniel Rutter, 48, of Wellingtonia Way, was charged with multiple offences including arson, assault by beating, criminal damage, and three counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
He was remanded in custody ahead of his court appearance at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 26 April.
