Plain-Clothes Police Nab Drug Dealers in Chatham Sting
On the afternoon of Friday 7 July 2023, undercover officers from the Proactive Targeting Team spotted a suspicious vehicle parked off Capstone Road, Chatham. The driver, a 28-year-old man, was promptly arrested.
Cocaine and Cash Seized on the Spot
Police searched the car under the Misuse of Drugs Act and discovered around 15 street deals of cocaine, along with cash. The bust was just the start.
Weapons Cache and Second Arrest at Mills Terrace
Following fast-track enquiries, officers raided a nearby home in Mills Terrace. There, they uncovered large amounts of powdered drugs and seized dangerous weapons, including an axe, knuckle duster, sword, and lock knife. A 47-year-old woman was also arrested.
Both Suspects Bailed but Under Investigation
Both suspects were taken into custody and have now been released on bail as investigations continue.
