Knife-Wielding William Parker Jailed After Brutal Attacks
William Parker, 43, has been locked up for over three years after stabbing a man he knew in a shocking attack on Gordon Road. The victim suffered serious wounds to his neck and shoulder but had fled before police arrived.
Violent Standoff With Police
When officers turned up on May 14, 2020, Parker was aggressive and armed with a drill. He refused to let the police inside his home, forcing them to smash a downstairs window. Inside, he punched a constable in the head during the arrest attempt.
Due to his violent resistance, officers tasered Parker to gain control.
Double Stabbing and Assault Charges
It later emerged Parker had also stabbed the same victim in the hand two days earlier. He pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and assaulting an emergency worker.
On September 30 at Maidstone Crown Court, Parker was sentenced to three years and four months behind bars.
Investigating officer, PC Helen Wilkes, said: “Parker has demonstrated that he’s a very violent man and thankfully is now in prison. kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police will not tolerate those who carry knives or use them to cause harm to others.
