Man, 35, Arrested After Suspicious Package Sparks Bomb Alert in Folkestone

A 35-year-old man has been arrested following the discovery of a suspicious package in Folkestone earlier this week.

Bomb Squad Called In

Kent Police responded to Radnor Park West at 7:44am on Wednesday, 18 September 2024, after a suspicious item was found. The area was swiftly cordoned off as the Ministry of Defence’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called in to assess the threat.

After a thorough check, the bomb squad declared the location safe and lifted the cordon later that same day.

Suspect Released on Bail

Officers arrested a local man in connection with the incident. He has since been released on bail while investigations continue.
