Three Men Arrested Over Historic Child Sexual Exploitation in Calderdale
Three men have been arrested amid an ongoing probe into non-recent child sexual exploitation claims in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. The suspects, aged 39, 38, and 38, were detained at their homes in Halifax on Wednesday, 11 September. All three have been released on bail as police continue their investigation.
Abuse Allegations Span 2006-2008
The investigation centres on allegations of sexual abuse against one female victim, believed to have occurred between 2006 and 2008 in Calderdale.
“We are committed to tackling child sexual exploitation and abuse. It is an abhorrent crime which affects the most vulnerable in our society,” said Detective Chief Inspector Clare Smith of Calderdale District.
She added, “These arrests follow a comprehensive investigation by the Calderdale Non-Recent Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Unit. West Yorkshire Police have extensive experience in investigating both current and historic cases. We have also worked closely with the Crown Prosecution Service to secure successful prosecutions in recent years.”
Police Urge Victims and Witnesses to Come Forward
DCI Smith urged anyone affected by child sexual abuse or who has information on potential victims or offenders to speak up. “Please, come forward and report what you know. Every report is taken seriously and will be fully investigated. Our goal is to safeguard victims and ensure justice is served.”
West Yorkshire Police continue their inquiries and are appealing to the public for any additional information that could aid the investigation.
