Strong Laws Back Up Emergency Workers
The Assaults on Emergency Workers Act, which came into effect in November 2018, made it a specific offence to attack emergency staff — including police officers, paramedics, and nurses. The legislation has toughened sentencing, aiming to protect those who put their lives on the line every day.
