Paul Banks Dies After Brutal Assault in Middleton

West Yorkshire Police have launched a murder probe after Paul Banks, 46, was found dead in Middleton.

Officers from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are leading the investigation into Paul’s death. The Farnley man was discovered unconscious on Bodmin Crescent shortly before 5am on Wednesday and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Head Injury Confirmed as Cause of Death

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Nicholson revealed the post-mortem confirmed Paul died from a head injury. He said:

“We are treating his death as a homicide.”

The police are piecing together Paul’s movements in the days before he was found.

Police Seek Witnesses After Assault

DCI Nicholson added:

“We are aware that Paul had been assaulted prior to his death and want to speak to anyone with information about this.”
