Child Abduction Horror at Halifax Shop – Police Hunt Key Witness
Shocking Abduction at Mixenden Mini Mart
Detectives in Calderdale are on the lookout for a crucial witness after a harrowing incident at the Mixenden Mini Mart in Halifax. At around 6.30pm on Tuesday, 15 February, two men barged into the shop and threatened a 12-year-old boy before forcing him into a waiting van.
Thankfully, the boy was released unharmed shortly afterwards.
Key Witness Still Missing
There was a member of the public inside the store during the ordeal. Police believe this person could hold vital information but have not yet been able to identify or contact them.
Arrests Made but Questions Remain
Three people have been arrested over the abduction and released on bail. Detective Constable Teri Gledhill, Calderdale District CID, said:
“We are treating this as a targeted incident and are working with the young victim and his family to ensure he is appropriately safeguarded and supported.
“We have made extensive enquiries into this incident but at this time this witness has not been identified and has not come forward to the police.”
“I would urge them, or anyone else with potential information about what has taken place, to please contact Calderdale CID.”
