Machete Mayhem Near Dagenham Station Leaves Teen Dead
Shock and tragedy struck near Dagenham Heathway Underground Station late on Friday, 5 May, when police were called to reports of men wielding machetes. The violence left one 18-year-old man dead and another injured.
Teen Stabbed to Death in Late-Night Attack
At 11.47pm, emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of a brutal stabbing. Officers and ambulance crews found the teenager, Wazabakana Elenda Jordan Kukabu—known as ‘Jordan’ from Romford—with a fatal stab wound to the chest. Despite desperate attempts to save him, he died on the spot.
“His family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers,” police confirmed.
Multiple Arrests in Growing Murder Inquiry
A post-mortem on Sunday, 7 May confirmed the cause of death as a single stab wound. Meanwhile, a second man in his 20s was taken to hospital with stab injuries but is in a stable condition.
- Three males aged 16, 17, and 20 were arrested in Suffolk on Tuesday, 9 May on suspicion of murder and violent disorder. They remain in custody.
- A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and violent disorder but has been bailed.
- Another 20-year-old man, previously arrested for murder suspicion, was released without charge but is currently on bail over a separate violent disorder case.
Key Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder
On Wednesday, 10 May, a suspect was charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon. He is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 11 May.
