Two Years On: Family Pleads for Justice Over Calvin’s Murder
Calvin Bungisa’s family is still shattered after his brutal stabbing two years ago. “Calvin’s mother is in constant pain and feels like she is living in a nightmare,” they said. “We cannot move on until those responsible are brought to justice. If you know anything, please come forward to the police.”
Police Renew Appeal with CCTV Footage
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell, leading the murder probe, urged witnesses to speak up. “With two years passed, those who stayed silent might now feel able to help. Whether you give information anonymously via Crimestoppers or directly, do the right thing and bring this killer to justice.”
“Please do the right thing by your friend, let us know what happened that night. You can stay anonymous — Crimestoppers won’t ask for your name or track your call.”
The Night Calvin Was Killed
- At around 8.30pm on April 1, 2019, police responded to a stabbing on Grafton Road, NW5.
- Calvin, 22, suffered multiple stab wounds and died at the scene by 9.01pm.
- Four male suspects were seen chasing Calvin before stabbing him.
- The suspects fled in a dark VW Bora, later found burnt out in Court Gardens.
- CCTV released in 2020 shows the VW Bora driving near the scene, running a red light, and being driven to the spot where it was set on fire.
Still No Breakthrough — Reward on Offer
Calvin’s family continue to get support from specialist officers, while detectives keep pushing for answers. DCI Cranwell said: “Time has not dulled our determination. We believe this was gang-related, so many people might know what happened or who’s responsible.”
He added: “A group of young men known to have been with Calvin that night are especially important to speak with.”
Police have offered a £10,000 reward via Crimestoppers for information leading to a conviction. So far, five males have been interviewed, and one man arrested in 2019 was later released pending further investigation.
