Rugby Man Jailed Over Cocaine Bust in Cemetery Drug Deal
A Rugby man has been locked up after cops caught him with nearly 10 grams of cocaine worth around £1,000.
Drug Deal Stormed by Proactive CID
On 10 February, officers patrolling Lower Hillmorton Road spotted what looked like a drug deal taking place in a local cemetery. They quickly identified Pires Williams, 20, from Winfield Street, as a key suspect.
Williams was arrested on the spot, with cash and mobile phones seized. A thorough search uncovered 9.48 grams of cocaine wrapped in 17 cling film packets – enough for several sales.
Three Years Four Months Behind Bars
Williams was charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug. After pleading guilty at Coventry Crown Court on 18 March, he was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.
Police Praise Community and Vow to Crack Down
“We are delighted Williams is now behind bars. We know only too well the damage drugs can cause,” said DC Thomas Quinlan, who led the investigation. “We encourage the public to come forward with any info on drug activity. Our team will keep fighting to stop drugs hitting Rugby’s streets.”
