Acid Attack Horror: Dad Dies Over £120k Drug Debt
Danny Cahalane, 38, lost his life after a brutal sulphuric acid attack tied to massive unpaid drug debts. The terrifying assault happened at his Plymouth home and has sparked a dramatic trial involving ten suspects—six from London.
Kidnap Plot Turns Deadly Acid Attack
The father-of-two was viciously attacked at his Lipson Road address on February 21 last year. He fought for life in hospital for ten weeks before dying on May 3. Prosecutor Jo Martin KC revealed the acid attack was ordered by notorious crime boss Ryan “Frost” Kennedy. Operating internationally from Thailand, Spain, and Dubai, Kennedy was furious over Danny’s £120,000 drug debt.
“Danny owed Frost around £120,000, and Frost was not happy about that,” said Ms Martin. “Danny was clearly not capable of finding the money and kept stalling, making excuses.”
Kennedy first tried to kidnap Danny in January 2025 before ordering the acid assault weeks later.
Chilling Texts Reveal Threats & Intimidation
Texts from Danny’s phone show terrifying threats from Kennedy. He wrote: “You’re gonna die… You done me £80K… I’m gonna give them an extra 40k to come and take your eyes out of your head.” Desperate Danny pleaded: “I got my little girl, my man is sorting tomorrow.” After the failed kidnap, Kennedy warned from Dubai: “Close call? Mate, I’m telling you they’re gonna burn Gaffes down and you’re gonna die.”
Ten Charged in Drug Gang Acid Attack Murder
Ten people face trial, seven accused of murder or manslaughter. Most defendants hail from London hotspots like Neasden, Tottenham, Edmonton, Barking, and Camden. Two are Plymouth locals.
- Abdulrasheed Adedoja, 23, Neasden
- Ramarnee Bakas-Sithole, 23
- Israel Augustus, 26, Tottenham
- Isanah Sungum, 22, Edmonton
- Brian Kalemba, 23, Barking
- Paris Wilson, 35, Plymouth
- Jude Hill, 43, Plymouth
Five suspects also face charges over the attempted kidnap and attempted grievous bodily harm in January 2025. Nine are accused of operating within a criminal gang linked to drug dealing and debt enforcement. Ms Martin slammed the killers: “There can be no doubt Danny Cahalane was murdered to enforce drug debts and to teach a significant lesson for disrespect.”
