FedEx Subcontractor Guilty of Murder After Stabbing Manager in Cold Blood
A FedEx subcontractor, Ronald Sekanjako, has been convicted of murder for fatally stabbing his manager, Philip David Woodcock. The deadly attack happened after Sekanjako was told he was being suspended amid an investigation.

On November 2, 2022, Sekanjako was called into a meeting to discuss suspicions that he was refuelling his van without paying. Witnesses say he fiercely denied the claims and flew into a rage. Philip Woodcock tried to calm him down.
As Philip led Sekanjako into his office, Sekanjako slammed the door shut and plunged a hidden knife into Philip’s chest. Police later found a second knife in the office and a hammer concealed in Sekanjako’s sock. Despite desperate efforts, Philip died at the scene from a stab wound to the heart.
Swift Justice: Jury Delivers Verdict in Just Hours
At trial, which started on November 6, Sekanjako, 49, was found guilty of murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and three counts of possession of offensive weapons. The jury took just two and a half hours to convict him.
Family Tribute and Police Plea Over Knife Crime
Philip’s family paid touching tribute, calling him a devoted worker looking forward to a quiet retirement. They condemned the “senseless act” that robbed them of Philip and asked for privacy to grieve.
“This verdict brings no joy, but hopefully some closure to those affected,” said Detective Inspector Simon Cartwright. “Sekanjako showed no remorse. This case is a grim reminder of the terrible cost of knife crime.”
