Five people have been charged following a rape probe in Gravesend. The disturbing incident involved a teenage girl and took place at a private home on Salisbury Road.
Police Act Fast After Reports
Kent Police launched their investigation after receiving reports on Tuesday, 21 April 2026. The alleged attack happened between 25 March and 19 April. Officers arrested two men and three teenage boys over the course of two days.
Details of the Charges
- Ionut Dobre, 33, from Woolwich, was charged with rape.
- Two 16-year-olds and one 15-year-old from Gravesend were also charged with rape.
- Benone Inofte, 46, of Salisbury Road, was charged with aiding and abetting the rape.
All five appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 24 April. Their next hearing is set for 22 May at Woolwich Crown Court.
Court Orders and Custody Status
Both men were remanded in custody. Two of the boys were sent to youth detention, while the youngest was released into local authority care.
