British Transport Police used cutting-edge forensic tech to nail a yob who spat at a railway worker on the London Underground.
Saliva Snags Spitter
Hasib Rahimi, 19, was traced through his own spit. Investigators matched the saliva sample, leading to his quick arrest and a 10-week jail sentence.
He Tried Dodging Fare – Ended Up in Handcuffs
- Rahimi showed up at Northwick Park station on 7 July 2020.
- He demanded free travel claiming he’d lost his pass.
- When refused, he stormed off, dialled police, then handed the phone to the staff member.
- The victim calmly told the operator there was no emergency and ended the call – only to be spat at by Rahimi instantly.
BTP Cracked Case with Special Assault Team
The British Transport Police’s dedicated Underground Staff Assaults Team launched the investigation. Using the saliva evidence, they tracked down Rahimi and ensured he paid for his disgusting attack.
