Birmingham Fugitive Zahid Khan Vows to Face UK Justice After Years on the Run
Zahid Khan, the infamous Birmingham fraudster who fled to Dubai four years ago, has stunned the public by announcing his plan to return to the UK and face the music. The 37-year-old convicted criminal had previously taunted UK authorities online after skipping out just before he was handed a hefty ten-year prison sentence.
Appealing Conviction But Ready to Return
In a recent Facebook interview with Shukeel A Chohan, host of the Online Networking Club channel, Khan confirmed he has lodged an appeal against his conviction at the High Court. Yet, he insisted that no matter the outcome, he’s determined to come back and confront his sentencing head-on.
Convicted in Absentia for £500k Number Plate Scam
Once a Moseley resident, Khan has been on the run since June 2018. He was sentenced in absentia to ten years for masterminding a £500,000 number plate fraud, which shockingly targeted a lottery winner. That’s not all — he picked up another 30-month sentence for conspiring to aid unlawful immigration into the UK.
Even while dodging arrest, Khan flaunted his freedom, regularly posting photos and videos from his Dubai hideout on Facebook.
Legal Battles With Police Over Seized Ferrari
Khan is also locked in a legal fight with West Midlands Police. He’s suing over the seizure and destruction of his second-hand Ferrari Spider, which he claims was worth £200,000 before breaking down. Police deny the claims and stand by their actions.
Whether Zahid Khan’s defiant return to Britain happens soon or not, his saga continues to grip public attention.
