Exeter Shooting: Man Dies After Late-Night Gun Attack
Police raced to Exeter House on Watermill Way at 11.08pm on Friday, 21 June after reports of a shooting. Armed officers, local cops, 1’s Air Ambulance, and London Ambulance teams arrived to find a man badly injured.
Tragically, paramedics couldn’t save the 25-year-old victim, who died at the scene. Detectives have named him as Edward Simpson from Feltham. A post-mortem at Fulham Mortuary revealed he died from a single gunshot wound to the upper body.
Multiple Arrests Made in Murder Probe
The investigation by the Homicide and Major Crime Command is intensifying. On Monday, 24 June officers arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He’s since been released on bail until late July.
The next day, two more men, aged 26 and 22, were also arrested on suspicion of murder. Both have been released on bail to return in July. Meanwhile, a 24-year-old was arrested for harbouring an offender and has been released under investigation.
Detectives Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin said: “We are still working hard to identify who is responsible for this horrendous and callous crime and bring those responsible to justice. We have made a number of arrests, but still have some way to go in achieving justice for Edward’s family and friends.”
“We believe a number of people were in the area at the time but have not felt confident enough to come forwards with vital information. We would like to speak with anyone who saw anything on the night or has knowledge around who was responsible for the shooting. Your information could save lives.”
