Woman Left With Serious Hand Injuries After German Shepherd Attack in Gillingham
Shock Dog Bite on Busy Junction Road
Police are hunting witnesses after a woman suffered serious hand injuries in a frightening dog attack in Gillingham on Saturday, 31 May 2025. The victim was walking near Junction Road, close to Napier Road, just before 2pm when a large black German Shepherd lunged at her without warning.
Victim Rushed to Hospital
Emergency crews arrived quickly and took the woman to a West Sussex hospital. She has since been discharged but is recovering at home. Police haven’t confirmed if the dog’s owner was nearby during the attack.
Dog Owner Arrested and Dog Seized
A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control. He was later released on bail as police continue their enquiries. Officers have seized the dog involved in the incident.
Police Launch Appeal for Witnesses
