Dark Drama Dead and Buried Begins Filming

Filming has kicked off on the new four-part psychological thriller Dead and Buried, penned by acclaimed writer Colin Bateman. Commissioned by BBC Northern Ireland and Virgin Media Television with All3Media International, the series stars Annabel Scholey and Colin Morgan in a gripping tale of grief and revenge.

Tense Plot with a Twisted Twist

The story centres on Cathy (Scholey), who runs into Michael (Morgan), the man convicted of murdering her brother twenty years ago. Despite warnings, Cathy investigates Michael’s social media, uncovering the seemingly perfect life he’s built since prison. Fueled by relentless grief, she embarks on a dark mission.

Her secret plan? To strike back with harassment, deceit, and psychological warfare, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality as she seeks to ruin Michael’s life.

Star Power Speaks Out

Colin Morgan is buzzing about his role: “I’m delighted to be embarking on Colin Bateman’s dark, funny and compulsive new drama Dead And Buried.” Annabel Scholey says she’s thrilled to dive deep into Cathy’s complex character alongside a talented team.

Bateman, also executive producer, shares his excitement on expanding the story from a short tale to full drama, tackling the haunting question of how one lives with the past when a murderer thrives.

Expect Twists, Black Comedy, and Edge-of-Your-Seat Thrills

Eddie Doyle, BBC Northern Ireland’s Head of Commissioning, praises Bateman’s “twisted plots and black comedy.” Virgin Media’s Anthony Nilan promises viewers intense thrills mixed with dark fun. Filming will span Northern Ireland and the Republic, making Dead and Buried a must-watch psychological thriller this year.
