Knife Attack Shocks Quiet Herne Bay Street
A passenger in a BMW was seriously stabbed after a terrifying road rage incident on a sleepy Herne Bay road in Kent. The drama unfolded just after 7am on Tuesday 3rd May 2022, on Stanley Road. Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 7.15am.
Game of Chicken Ends in Stabbing
The BMW driver, who wishes to remain anonymous, described the chaotic moments. Two men got out of a white car after crashing into a tree stump. They ran off across a junction while a third man staggered out, brandishing a large knife.
“My pal went after the pair, and that’s when he was stabbed. There was so much blood, he was bleeding badly,” the driver said.
The driver added: “It’s baffling – you’d expect something like this in Hackney, not calm Herne Bay. I’ve lived here ten years and keep myself to myself. I was just helping out a mate who was stuck at the garage. As we drove down Stanley Road, this white car started coming straight at us like it was some game of chicken.”
Chaos on the Road: White Car Ploughs Into Tree and Flips Over
The reckless white car smashed into a tree stump, flipped onto its side, and then collided with the BMW. Luckily, the early hour meant fewer people were around – had it been later, children on their way to school could have been caught up in the chaos.
Kent Police officers and crime scene investigators remain at the scene, with a second cordon in place on Douglas Road in Herne Bay. The three suspects fled after the crash and stabbing, sparking a manhunt.
