Passenger Stabbed After High-Speed Crash in Quiet Kent Town
A driver has told of his shock and fear after his friend was stabbed following a bizarre crash in sleepy Herne Bay, Kent. The victim, seated in the passenger seat of a BMW, was seriously injured after a terrifying game of “chicken” with a white car on Stanley Road just after 7am on Tuesday, 3 May 2022.
Chaos on Stanley Road: Car Hits Tree Stump and Flips
The driver, who asked to remain anonymous, described the chilling moments after the crash. “Two men jumped out of the white car right after it smashed into a tree stump and flipped onto its side. Then a third man stumbled out wielding a knife,” he said.
“My pal chased after the men, and that’s when he got stabbed. There was blood everywhere, and he was bleeding badly.”
The driver is baffled why such violence erupted in quiet Herne Bay. “You’d expect this in Hackney, not here. I’ve lived in the area for 10 years and keep to myself. I was just helping out a mate who was stuck at a garage.”
Police Hunt Trio After Violent Hit-and-Run
The white car appeared to deliberately target the BMW, charging head-on as if playing a deadly game of chicken.
“Then the car hit the tree stump, flipped on its side, and crashed into my vehicle,” the shocked driver said. He added, “It was lucky this happened early, or there could have been kids on their way to school.”
Kent Police and emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 7.15am. One man was taken to hospital in London with stab wounds. Officers sealed off part of Stanley Road and Douglas Road amid an ongoing investigation.
A Kent Police spokesman confirmed:
“Officers were called to Stanley Road, Herne Bay at 7.05am on Tuesday 3 May following a two-car collision and an assault. Emergency crews attended, and a man was taken to hospital with stab wounds. An investigation is ongoing, with road closures in place for enquiries.”
