Knife Threat Chaos in Nottingham Street
Nottinghamshire Police sprang into action after reports of a man waving a knife and threatening the public in Amesbury Circus, Cinderhill. The drama unfolded just before 3pm on Saturday, May 15.
Suspect Punched Man, Sought Fights
Witnesses said the suspect punched a man in the head and was looking for more trouble. Police dogs and officers quickly scoured the area after the man fled on foot.
Arrest Made After House Search
Following a search of a local home, officers arrested Curtis Goode, 40, from Amesbury Circus. The victim suffered swelling but escaped serious injury.
Goode faces a string of charges including:
- Common assault by beating
- Threatening a person with a bladed article in public
- Possession of a bladed article in public
- Threatening behaviour
- Section 4 public order offence
He’s been remanded and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, May 17.
Police Vow to Clamp Down on Knife Crime
“The force takes all reports of knife crime and violence very seriously and we will always investigate incidents reported to us and look to take appropriate action against those suspected to have committed such offences,” said PC Michael Tyers.
“Violent disorder won’t be tolerated. We are committed to cutting knife crime, tackling worrying behaviour, and keeping our communities safe.”
