Firearms Felon Busted for £1 Million Cocaine Haul
Klejdi Kazani, a 24-year-old Albanian and convicted London gun supplier, has been slammed with an extra five years behind bars. He was caught peddling £1 million worth of cocaine after already serving seven years for being caught with a loaded pistol and ammo on the M1 in Hertfordshire back in August 2021.
Phone Evidence Exposes Massive Drug Operation
Officers cracked the case wide open when they found damning evidence on Kazani’s phone. It showed he shipped nearly 14 kilograms of cocaine and cannabis to several contacts just weeks before his arrest. This led to Kazani confessing in October to serious drug and money laundering offences.
During raids, cops also uncovered £20,000 stashed between Kazani’s fridge and kitchen drawers, alongside a stash of herbal cannabis.
Organised Crime Partnership Takes Down Drug Ring
Kazani’s gang included fellow Albanians and a Bulgarian, all targeted by London’s Organised Crime Partnership—a joint task force between the National Crime Agency (NCA) and Metropolitan Police.
Co-conspirator Emil Spasov hauled 6.1 kilos of cocaine over nine trips and handled £148,000 in drug profits. Spasov was locked up for five years and four months.
Other gang members Olklen Perzhilla, Ervis Axhami, and Mariklen Bello got varying prison sentences for cracking deliveries of cocaine around Brighton and London.
Police Warn of Violence Linked to Drug Trade
“The drugs supplied by this group could have fuelled violence and other crime in our communities,” warned Detective Chief Inspector Ben Mahoney from the Organised Crime Partnership. He praised the strong NCA-Met collaboration that smashed this dangerous operation, vowing to keep protecting the public from such threats.
