Essex Man Admits Murder in Deadly Enfield Stabbing
Fatal Fight on Queen Elizabeth’s Drive
A 22-year-old from Cheltenham has pleaded guilty to murdering Bledi Petraj in a brutal stabbing during a fight in Enfield earlier this year. Kozma Papa admitted the crime yesterday (October 24) at the Old Bailey.
The violent clash took place on February 4, shortly after 2 pm, when police were called to Queen Elizabeth’s Drive following reports of a stabbing. Officers found 37-year-old Petraj with multiple stab wounds. Despite paramedics’ efforts, he died later the same afternoon at hospital.
Bitter Battle Ends in Tragedy
Detective Sergeant Matthew Goode revealed the fight began after Petraj stopped his car and Papa pulled up behind. Both men got out and clashed violently. “It has never been established why they fought,” said Goode. “But whatever the reason, it doesn’t justify the loss felt by Bledi’s family or the years Kozma Papa will spend behind bars.”
Quick Police Action Leads to Arrest
Authorities caught Papa later that day in Hertfordshire after pulling over a car he was in. He was immediately charged with murder. His guilty plea at the Old Bailey means he will face a hefty prison sentence.
Community Warned on Violence
This tragic case highlights the devastating fallout from violent disputes. Police continue to urge everyone to seek peaceful solutions to conflicts, warning against unnecessary violence that tears families and communities apart.
