Taser Used to Stop Attacker; Officer Stable
Police deployed a taser to subdue the suspect, who was immediately arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH). The man was taken to hospital as a precaution. The injured officer also received hospital treatment but his condition is not life-threatening.
Bravery Praised by Police Commander
“This is another example of the dangers our officers face daily while protecting Londoners,” said North West BCU Commander Roy Smith. “Knowing there was a man armed with a knife, this constable and his colleagues ran to challenge him – truly brave actions. I have visited the injured officer in hospital and thankfully he should make a full recovery.”
