Man Arrested After Blaze Destroys Three Cars in Northaw
A fiery crime rocked Northaw in the early hours as a blaze tore through three parked cars and damaged a nearby front door.
Fire Erupts Just After 1.20am – No Injuries
Emergency crews raced to Coopers Lane Road shortly after 1.20am on Monday, 13 October, following reports of a ferocious fire engulfing vehicles. Flames ravaged three parked cars and scorched a neighbouring property’s front door. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control. Miraculously, no one was hurt.
Accused Faces Serious Charges at Crown Court
Abdul Miah, 32, from Leyton Road, London, has been charged with arson recklessly endangering life and possession of an offensive weapon. He appeared before Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 23 October, where he was remanded in custody. Miah will next appear at St Albans Crown Court on 20 November.
Detective Hails Team’s Swift Justice
“I’d like to thank the team’s diligence and hard work in securing a charging decision,” said Detective Inspector Michael Ball, who is leading the investigation. “The fire was brought under control and thankfully no injuries were reported. The case will now progress through the courts.”
