County Lines Kingpin Jailed for Nearly Four Years
A 19-year-old drug dealer, Shayden Mullings, has been slammed with a hefty prison sentence after masterminding a nasty county lines operation from London to Hertfordshire.
Mullings, who has no fixed address, was locked up for three years and 10 months at Wood Green Crown Court on 20 November. He pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including supplying Class A drugs like heroin and crack cocaine, as well as cannabis possession.
Running Drug Lines Across Two Counties
The dirty racket ran from July 2018 to January this year, with Mullings also caught supplying drugs in Northampton in September 2019. He wasn’t just pushing drugs — he was running the show, answering calls and sending “runners” to make the deals.
The Hackney Gangs Taskforce cracked the case after 18 months of digging, revealing Mullings’ grip over multiple drug lines across London, Hertfordshire, and Northampton. He was a major player, holding key “line phones” used to control the distribution.
Met Police Crack Down on County Lines Bosses
“The Met is now arresting those criminals at the top of the county lines routes, who hold the lines and not the drugs, more and more. This new method allows us to properly dismantle county lines routes from the top, and stop others from replacing them so easily.” – PC Cal Gregory, Hackney Gangs Taskforce
“Criminals and gangs will fight one another to take control of the drug supply networks, and county lines are a driving force for violence that ruins communities and leaves families grieving.”
The Met’s new tactic hits drug bosses where it hurts — targeting the masterminds behind the scenes, not just low-level dealers. This ruthless crackdown aims to break up county lines networks and protect communities blighted by violence and addiction.
