Drug-Fuelled Peeping Tom Jailed for Lewd Balcony Antics

Joseph Mafe, 53, from Bermondsey, was locked up for 10 months at Inner London Crown Court on March 6. He pleaded guilty to two counts of exposure and breaching a suspended sentence after shockingly flashing from his own balcony.

Back in the Dock After Drug Binge

Mafe, labelled a drug addict, had dodged jail in 2022 despite multiple flashing incidents. But last autumn, he broke his suspended sentence during a two-day binge on crystal meth, GBL, and booze – the classic toxic mix behind many a drug-fuelled meltdown.

Lewd Balcony Show Caught on Witnesses’ Eyes and Ears

Prosecutor Mark Gadsden told the court how Mafe exposed himself on September 16, shouting obscenities and making vile gestures at passers-by. Witnesses described his “large” penis slapping against his body as he danced provocatively. Even when a witness threatened to call the police, Mafe kept up his vile act until cops finally swooped.

Shockingly, on the very day of his sentencing, Mafe was arrested AGAIN for repeating the disgusting behaviour.

Judge Unmoved by Mental Health Claims

Mafe denied witnesses heard his body sounds, but Judge Darren Reed wasn’t buying it. He slammed Mafe’s conduct as reckless and down to drug abuse, not mental health issues claimed by the defence.

Defence lawyer Danielle Buckett said Mafe’s actions were a “cry for help” due to paranoid schizophrenia and poor support from mental health services. Judge Reed showed zero sympathy, ripping into Mafe’s lack of remorse and refusal to take responsibility.

Mafe’s suspended sentence was activated alongside a new 26-week term, adding up to 40 weeks behind bars. The judge’s harsh words send a clear warning about the cost of vile acts fueled by drugs and untreated mental illness.
